Description: Oklahoma Home School Connection Group is an organization of families from Oklahoma who come together for the common purpose of encouraging one another in their endeavors to faithfully train and educate their children at home. While the leadership of OK.H.S.C. is Christ led, and each individual family allows God to determine the path of theirhomeschooling, as a service organization, we will strive to support and encourage anyone who seriously desires to educate their children at home.
Requirements: The families that participate in OK.H.S.C. group activities come from towns ranging as far north as Luther south to Norman east to Shawnee and west to Yukon, including most of the towns in-between. Our central location for meetings is in MIDWEST CITY/DEL CITY. Our children range in ages from 0 to 17 years old and we have activities appropriate for each age group. Our group has frequent field trips organized by our activities team. Some of the field trips include: Tour of Braums Farm, Harn Homestead, Clydesdale Ranch, Fire Station tour and many more. We also have a monthly book club meeting, newsletter, Mommy's Night Out, and a yearly Back 2 School Picnic, Thanksgiving Feast, skating party, and various other activities planned through out the year. OK.H.S.C. group operates on Teams. The team approach is a way for our large support group to meet the needs of the group without placing the burden on any one person or group. Each team has a specific purpose and works throughout the year to accomplish that purpose to enrich the entire group. Each team has a Team Captain that is responsible for overseeing the function of the team. The team approach works like this: the responsibilities of the group are divided among teams. EVERYONE joins a specific team when they join the group. You choose your team based on your interests and giftings, i.e. if you like to scrapbook, join the yearbook team! Joining a team doesn't mean you have to do a lot, it just means you do a little something. How much you do is still up to you. This will result in so many benefits to our group, including better relationships, more efficiency, more opportunities and activities for our group and most importantly no burnt-out leaders!
If you are interested in joining this group you will need to contact the group leader firstname.lastname@example.org get a copy of the membership form which must be completed and returned before your membership to this group will be approved.

The idea is to share resources, techniques and other information as well ascomradery amongst other families engaged in home education. We are all about homeschooling, not religion or politics. We all have our own views and beliefs and reasons for homeschooling. The common thread here is that we are all educating our own children at home for a plethora of reasons. This does not mean that we are not individually interested in religion, politics, etc. but that we are here for the common purpose of homeschooling our kids.
We are here to offer insight, resources, and support to homeschoolingfamilies. Please keep discussion, posts, etc. to the ideals of homeschoolingand respect all members of this group. This is not the forum for religious or political content. We are homeschoolers who wish to homeschool secularly and as such, please keep religion and politics out of the discussion and off the list. Please share resources, ideas, activities/events, etc. that will help others in this endeavor. Also, if you have questions, concerns, BURNOUT, please feel free to ask or share without fear of reprisal. We are here to help!
Please remember, the idea here is to share resources and hopefully gain a supportive and cohesive group of people with one main goal: to do the very best for our children
Requirements: The only requirements to membership are that we all respect each other's views and that we are supportive within our homeschoolcommunity. If you have something to share, please do so. If you have questions or need advice, we have many veteran homeschoolers willing to help, so please ask; no fear of reprisal or rebuke.
Benefits: We have many links already listed and are always trying to add more that are pertinent in our links section. SecularHS strives to put together events/activities and we hope to be able to do more in the future. Members are welcome and encouraged to plan group events as well.
